Well it sucks that I have been sick lately, but I did get my pictures developed and they were so so...kind of disappointed. So then I went to a digital camera because it is a lot easier. You can take numerous pictures and view them right away. I still shot almost the same pictures, I just feel I could manipulate the camera better with taking multiple shots of the same picture. So I am hoping I can put them in the drop box for you. And then I could hand in the paper in class. If you get this before class, let me know. Thanks. I hope people feel my pictures are shocking in a way. Each "subject" comes with three pictures. They go in order from the first to the third, hoping that it will change the viewers opinion as they go from one to the other. Oh by the way, how long do you want our papers on this to be? That's about it, so I will see you in class.

Project yet cont...
Well this weekend I went out and took some pictures for my project. Some you could say are controversial, but I need to get the attention some how of my viewer. They haven't been developed yet, so I don't know how they turned out, but I will keep you posted. I don't want to get into what I shot until I see the pictures myself. Because I could go into a long description of what I was trying to come out with and the pictures don't come out. I might use digital next time I shoot...Anyways that is all for now. Thanks for listening. See ya in class.

Project 1 Continued
As I read your comment on my proposal more ideas came into my head. When you mentioned messing with the speed of the film, I imagined that could be used in a very unique way while trying to manipulate the film to get different reactions from the viewer. I coukd take pictures of different activities with one person and see how they come out. Maybe have a really blurred one by opening the shutter for a long time. Or on the opposite hand, I could take fast motion shots with a quick shutter speed to capture my subject in the middle of the action. I feel this could create tension in the frame with the open shutter. I also like how you commented on using one person for my subject so I can mess with the zoom and focus on the subjects features as you zoom more and more in. I still like my idea on how the whole space of a picture can add to it and by showng that through different shots, whether it be zoomed in or a long shot. With a close up on a person, the viewer is primarily focused on the person. But if I would zoom out and bring in a background that has something to say, the viewer will not just be focusing on the person. For example, a picture of a beautiful girl close up. You as the viewer would probably concentrate on what makes her gorgeous; her features. Then if I pulled the camera back and revealed something that the viewer wouldn't expect, they wouldn't concentrate on the girl anymore causing controversy. I feel I just need to explore with shooting and see what I come up with for my first roll.

Journal 2
I have been thinking about this project that we have to do for class. The media that i like the most is photography. So I guess I will be doing photography about photography? Sorry that sounds so weird, but that is what I get about all of them. Do a video about a video? Do a song about a song? What does that even mean? Yes, we have to explore the medium within the medium. Well, what I took from it is that I am going to explore the depth in a photograph. How a same picture set up shot at different lengths can affect the viewer. Cause you can do a close up with maybe only the subject and a fiew things in the shot and then take one from far away and all new atmosphere comes into play. I want to see if I can make the viewer feel one thing with one photograph, have the same shot at a different distance and see if I can make the viewer feel something else. I'll elaborate more on it for my proposal.
Journal 1
There is a lot to say about the film we watched in class on Monday titled "Wavelength". At first, I found this film to be rather boring and irritating. It annoyed me to just watch a room being filmed and nothing else. The only thing that may have kept me interested was the changing of colors by filters I am guessing. So, as I started to fall asleep, by my surprise, an annoying sound took over the film. But then I took a closer look and realized the film had actually zoomed in just a tad. Now that I was awake due to a sound that I thought would make my ears fall off, I started to concentrate on the camera's movement. It slowly started moving in on this yellow chair that obviously was the main object of the room. As it got closer and closer to the chair, something out of the blue happened. A man was murdered! He laid and died in the bottom of the screen, but soon enough the zoom of the camera passed him by, telling us that he wasn't important. So moving on, the camera kept getting closer to this yellow chair. But who would have guessed, Michael Snow threw in a twist as the zoom passed by the yellow chair! It wasn't what he wanted us to concentrate on. As the "nails on a chalkboard" sound continued louder and louder, our anticipation for what we were supposed to see got bigger. Finally, I realized we were zooming in a picture on the wall. This was the only point in the film where I caught myself on the edge of my seat trying to beat the zoom in to see what it was a picture of. I guess about three different things and was all wrong. And who would have guessed it, it was a picture of waves! This film, in a disturbing way, kept my attention only because it kept changing what you thought the who film was slowly focusing on. I thought the filter changes added for eye candy, but beside that the first part of the film made me sleepy.
